Remember the movie Inherit The Wind? It took place in a hot Tennessee
courtroom in the 1920's - everyone used paddle-fans to try to cool themselves.
Here's a CHICAGO The Musical 1920's-style
paddle-fan
featuring our favorite demented-Nana photo (courtesy Carina). A collector's item for sure!

A typical Broadway night scene - the Music Box Theatre on West 45th Street (near the
north end of Shubert Alley), approx. 11:45 PM on September 1.
The "scene of the crime": Shubert Theatre on West 44th Street! Shot prior to the 2 PM matinee
on September 2.

The remaining four images were shot on October 7 and reflect the aftermath of the heinous events
that occured in this city (and other locales) on September 11. Included are scenes from the FDNY
Fire Station Battalion 54, Ladder 4 (located on the corner of 8th Avenue and West 48th Street),
where an entire truck-company of 15 firefighters perished in a valiant attempt to save lives
amid the carnage surrounding the destruction of the World Trade Center. These images pay tribute to
these fallen heroes and the many, many innocents who were lost on that fateful day.
Shauna and Donna at the wall of the fire station, where citizens from across
the USA and beyond pay tribute and offer sympathy to those who have fallen.
A detail of the
wall, including one's appeal for peace and compassion in this time
of turmoil and anger due to an insignificant few's lack of compassion toward
humanity.
Down the street stood the bronze statue and plaque (soon to be erected as of October
25) that will honor New York's Bravest and Finest. The statue perfectly captures
the anguish of those who have suffered, and will serve as a reminder that we
will never forget this tragedy for many generations.
Only days after September 11, NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani (in a televised interview)
urged Americans & others to come to New York, "...Go to a restaurant, see a show!".
This billboard on Times Square captures the revitalization
and rebirth of a great city!
